KR2 is a Berlin based investment company which makes investments in the ecosystem of digital content for K12 education. We invest in companies that produce, aggregate, refine/enrich, organise, distribute and monetize digital content for teachers, pupils and parents.
The company focuses on the following verticals of edtech:
- Production: enriched video & audio; productions based on AR technology; gamnified learning content; specialist content companies with topical focus; content for multiple curricula
- Software based production technology: virtual expeditions, simulations; 3D animations, 3D scene development, 360 degree video; AR specific 3D modeling; interaction design
- Processing and enrichment service providers: translation, editing, sourcing & tagging & labelling, curriculum mapping, contextualisation; assesment & measurement of learning impact of content, personalisation; anaytics of content; reskinning content for white label usage, repurposing, enrichment
- Discovery, navigation, curation: technology and services which make it easier to find appropriate educational content: niche search engines, curated marketplaces, content mapping
- Platforms and access: for marketing, distribution, monetisation and community building around content: match-making marketplaces, platforms for user generated content, companies specialized as „one stop shop“ for school market, bundled subscriptions
- Ownership and licensing of proprietary IP: aggregating a library of undervalued IP assets, enrichment of existing IP through distribution, language, interactive features.
The team at KR2 are passionate company builders with deep operational experience in product development, brand marketing, distribution and subscription for education and entertainment. We invest and support mission driven edtech entrepreneuers in seed, A and B rounds.
